LEAVES!

One of the very last jobs for the garden before winter is to spread out the leaves which were brought to us by Jamie Lewis from Extreme Landscaping who is always willing to lend a hand with the Davis School Garden.

We spread the leaves into the PATHWAYS of the garden and leave the garden beds clear.  We do this so we can find the garden beds again in the spring and add fresh compost to them to make them ready for planting.  And we spread leaves in the pathways to keep the weeds from growing up there during the spring and summer.

If anyone wants to help I am leaving my wheel barrows and pitch fork by the compost bin.  Families, teachers & kids are all welcome to come help spread a few leaves.

Be careful not to step in the garden beds (where the irrigation tapes are) and not to wheel barrow over them.  Try to stay on the pathways.

THANKS!

Harvesting potatoes

Hi everyone!

What a fun fall it's been!  Here are some of my photos from a wonderful potato harvest day with Ms. Kimball-Dorey's class.
