Dogwood Trees Planted

The Bedford Garden Club visited Davis School first grade classes last Friday in honor of Arbor Day. Each child was given a tiny dogwood tree to plant with their families. The Garden Club graciously donated some extra trees to us and we planted them around our school. We looked for a sunny spot and hope our little trees grow to help make our school even more beautiful!

Ms. Petrocelli's Class Does Some Planting!

First Graders in Room 231 planted Little Finger Carrots, Salad Bowl Lettuce, Parsley and Mint in the classroom.  First Graders wanted to plant things that we could eat!
Our plan is to transplant the vegetables to the Davis School Garden in May.  We learned that mint plants will grow and spread out in the garden.  We'll watch mint plants grow in a flower box in our classroom.

Garden Shed!

Davis has a new garden shed to hold all of the supplies and tools for our garden!
Inside are watering cans and trowels, and soon we'll have gloves, forked tools, and lots of other things kids can use when they're planting or exploring or observing.
See you at the garden!
